The GAYVNs were announced and Shane’s Worlds’ brand new gay series, College Invasion: Male – Volume 1, is up for Best Specialty Series. After many years doing the highly successful and media hyped College Invasion series, Shane’s World decided to branch out and do a new volume with an all male cast. They left the girls at home and sent out male porn stars, Caleb Carter, Tommy D, Trevor Knight and Christian Owens, to Portland —all we can say is you can never have enough lube and beer for an event like this.
What sparked the companies move into the gay market were several requests via their website, www.collegeinvasion.com. Once the studio receive enough requests and found the right group of guys to party with they headed out and Volume 1 was made.
“I think the reason College Invasion: Male has been so well received is because we didn’t deviate from the Shane’s World Brand. We didn’t head out and say let’s make a “Gay Shane’s World” movie … we said let’s make another really good movie!” said Jennie Grant, Shane’s World Owner. “We are just thrilled we have been able to reach out and gain a whole new set of fans!”
Sales for the DVD have far exceeded the company’s expectations. And now, the movie isn’t just popular, it’s up for one of the industry’s biggest awards. Megan Stokes, Vice President of Sales, is over the moon about being a nominee. “We are so honored that our first effort has been acknowledged by the GAYVNs”, says Stokes.
The 10th Annual GAYVN Awards will take place on February 16, 2008, at the Giftcenter in San Francisco. The event is limited to industry, but fans may also purchase tickets at http://ticketweb.com/. Come out and see Shane’s World take home the coveted statue!
