After a successful soft launch earlier this month, SocialKink.com has exploded onto the fetish scene. A new social networking site especially made for and by the fetish community, Social Kink offers features such as uncensored profiles, news, blogs, groups, forums, matchmaking and a local events calendar.
“We want to create a place where the best of fetish entertainment and education will come together in one central location,” explains fetish photographer, shibari artist and performer Nikki Nefarious, who also happens to be the manager for SocialKink.com. “The fetish community is all about freedom to explore and it is our aim to provide an ideal online location for that freedom to be experienced.”
SocialKink.com also boasts perks outside of the basic fare, including interviews, site exclusives and profile verification. Already in the site’s short time online, it boasts interviews with such recognizable names as Midori, Steve Diet Goedde, Isabella Sinclaire, Julie Simone and Combichrist.
The site also hosts the “Kinktionary,” a wiki-driven educational resource for all things kinky where its users are free to include their own entries to educate others on their particular brand of kink, safety measures, and even how-to’s.
“Education is vital to the community,” Ms. Nefarious reveals. “SocialKink is here to bring together everyone from the curious to the well-established lifestyle player and education is key to that. We promote Safe, Sane and Consensual exploration without judgment.”
SocialKink.com is already networking, both online and off – this week, the site is sending representatives to Folsom Street Fair, “the grand daddy of all leather events,” in San Francisco. SocialKink is doubly honored to be able to sponsor the appearance of their very own SouthEast LeatherFest Bootblack 2007 title-holder Q at the event. Not only will she be there as a representative for Social Kink, she will also be demonstrating her title-winning talents. Born and raised a southern boi, Q currently lives in Charlotte, NC, and is a member of CAPEX. She recently attended Black Beat in Baltimore, MD, and Great Lakes Leather Alliance in Indianapolis, IN, and will be bootblacking at the Folsom Street Fair on September 30th from 11:30 AM– 2PM.
